ASTANA. July 28. KAZINFORM Implementation of a pilot project on establishment of control point for water leak detection in the mains system was started this year in Astana, the press service of "Astana Innovations" JSC reports.

According  to Pm.kz site, this project aims to maintain the regime of resources conservation, reduction of the number of accidents in water supply networks and ensuring liability of water supply systems. 

The press service reports that every control point will be equipped with pressure monitor, signal converter, electrical unit with automatic protection, connection components and extender. 

Thus, in case the pressure changes in a section of the network, portable loggers will record noise level differences. This will allow to define the leak place to a precision of several centimeters. The information will be automatically submitted to a computer of dispatch center via GSM/GPRS system of a radio channel.

Presently, a section of the mains system for implantation of the project in a pilot mode was defined. Equipment of the 3rd generation for installation of control points in special zones of the water supply network was delivered to the section. 

The pilot project will allow to receive information about the condition of special zones of the water supply network which will serve as a base for large-scale introduction of this innovative technology of control over water leak in the water supply networks of the city.
