MOSCOW. July 13. KAZINFORM There are plans to put together a new Customs Code of the Customs Union by 2015, Vladimir Goshin, Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, told media on 12 July, according to BelTA.

The new code is expected to include regulations laid down by all the intergovernmental agreements on customs affairs. Besides, the document will embody totally new approaches, including declarative principle of customs clearance, digital declaration of goods, and computerized customs processing.

Vladimir Goshin also said draft amendments to the existing Customs Code of the Customs Union had been prepared. About 370 amendments have been collected, however, most of them are minor ones. The draft amendments have been sent to the governments of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan already. The Minister said he hopes the amendments will come into force on 1 January 2013.
