ASTANA. July 10. KAZINFORM Independent Kazakh Agency for Education Quality Assurance has summed up results of its research on activities of higher education institutions in Kazakhstan in 2011-2012.

The ranking of the best HEIs in Kazakhstan in 2012 was made based on the analysis of qualitative academic indicators, peer assessment and employers poll. The agency has evaluated all 132 HEIs of Kazakhstan.

The Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Buketov Karaganda State University took up three top spots in the ranking of multi-profile HEIs accordingly.

The Kazakh British Technical University was named the best technical higher education institution of Kazakhstan. As the Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University and the Kazakh National Agrarian University came second and third in the best technical HEIs ranking.

The top three humanitarian and economic HEIs are as follows: KIMEP University, the T.Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University and the Kazpotrebsoyuz Karaganda Economic University.

Astana Medical University, the Asfendiyarov Kazakhstan National Medical University and the Karaganda State Medical University were named the best medical HEIs.
