Stuntman from Almaty taught 'President Lincoln' how to axe
ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM Popular director Timur Bekmambetov says huge 'thank you' to Igor Tsai, a stuntman from Almaty, for making eye-popping fight scenes in a new Hollywood blockbuster 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'.

"Igor Tsai worked with me side by side in the U.S. on the new project about the sixteenth president," Timur Bekmambetov told a press conference that opened ASTANA International Action Film Festival on Sunday (July 1).

"The main character President Lincoln played by American actor Benjamin Walker has mastered the art of axing. He uses a silver axe to slay vampires. The most wonderful thing is that the fight scenes have been developed by our compatriot. Igor Tsai is from Almaty. He has a great stunt studio there. I hope this young man will have a great future in the stunt industry," T. Bekmambetov said at the press conference.

The movie reveals the 'secret life' of one of the greatest U.S. presidents Abraham Lincoln - a loving father and husband at day time and a ruthless vampire hunter at night.

'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' movie premiered on the first day of the celeb-filled ASTANA International Action Film Festival at the Palace of Peace and Accord in Astana.
