Men in Black 3 kicks off in Astana with a flash mob
ASTANA. May 26. KAZINFORM A mob of young people dressed in black suits and sunglasses hit the aisles in the Keruen mall on Friday night in Astana.
A group of 60 people got together to put on a performance to celebrate the screening of Men in Black 3 translated into Kazakh in the capital of Kazakhstan. Young people dressed like MIB agents were trying to catch an alien in the improvised dance accompanied by Men in Black soundtrack.
The third installment of the sci-fi action comedy was translated into the Kazakh language and dubbed at Cinema Tone Production in Almaty and at Shepperton Studio in London. The project worth USD 200 000 was sponsored by JSC "National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna".
This is not the first Hollywood blockbuster to be translated into Kazakh. A year ago Cars 2, a film distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, was translated into the state language and screened by local movie theaters across Kazakhstan.
Men in Black 3 premiered in Kazakhstan on May 24 both in Russian and Kazakh languages.
