KAZINFORM First time in the history of the European Union and Belgium the embassies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan held a joint celebration of Nauryz holiday at the famous Palais des Colonies in Brussels.
In an interview with Kazakh journalists in Brussels, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Mission to the EU and NATO Erik Utembayev said "the EU appreciates the tradition and culture of our countries. Today we have received many congratulations from heads of state, representatives of the European Parliament and local authorities. In this regard, I would like to congratulate the people of Kazakhstan on the holiday and wish them all the best!" Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan in Belgium, Head of Afghanistan Mission to the EU and NATO Homayoun Tandar congratulated Kazakhstan on the occasion of Nauryz and wished all the best to the brotherly people of Kazakhstan. "Nauryz is the day that demonstrates the solidarity and unity among all our peoples. The tradition of celebrating Nauryz originated five thousand years ago. I am confident that the cooperation with Kazakhstan will be strengthened!" the Afghan diplomat said. Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan to Belgium John Stoop on behalf of Belgium congratulated Kazakhstan on the holiday and wished our country to continue its path of development, which started when the republic became independent. "Our two countries have formed very good relationships that are improving year after year. We hope that the two countries will work more closely together to implement all the agreements reached between the parties for the benefit of our peoples. Your country is respected all over the world and I am honored to be your Honorary Consul in Belgium," Mr. John Stoop emphasized.
