ASTANA. March 14. KAZINFORM Today at Akorda Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received members of the Expert Committee of International Exhibition Bureau, President's press service informs.

The delegation included Chairman of Expert Commission of the International Exhibition Bureau (BIE) Stan Christensen, BIE President Ferdinand Nagy, BIE Secretary General Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs Embassy of Spain in France Santiago Mendioroz Echeverria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the French Republic Faxas Laura, expert on international relations of the Ministry of Tourism of San Marino Mauro Maiani, Director of promoting international exhibitions of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasushi Iwamoto.

During the meeting the sides discussed the opportunity for holding the International specialized exhibition EXPO - 2017 in Astana.

"Today we are pleased to show opprtunities of our country as an applicant for holding the exhibition in 2017. We are committed to prepare and conduct EXPO-2017 in case of positive decision of the Commission. We will consider this as a national project. During the days in our country, you have the opportunity to meet with representatives of various agencies, to study the potential of Astana," the Kazakh President said.
