10 March 2012, 12:04 M5.5 quake jolts Ibaraki Pref., vicinity, no tsunami warning issued TOKYO. March 10. KAZINFORM An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 hit Ibaraki Prefecture and its vicinity on early Saturday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. No tsunami warning was issued. According to Kyodo, the 2:25 a.m. quake registered lower 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in Takahagi and 4 in several other locations in the prefecture, according to the agency. There has been no report of fresh abnormalities at the Fukushima Daiichi and Daini nuclear power plants in neighboring Fukushima Prefecture, according to Tokyo Electric Power Co.
